I offer fun beginners and kids drum lessons with equipment advice in the relaxed environment of your own home. 

 

Children’s drum lessons can be both exciting and rewarding for the student, teacher and parents alike.  The lessons can start from the age of 8 but I am happy to teach a younger child if the passion and willingness to learn is evident - I’ve found though that a half hour to 45 min lesson is enough for a 6-year olds patience!

 

Teaching youngsters how to play the drums builds a good musical foundation and limb independence.  It has also been proven that children develop motor strength and control, speech and communication, social skills, emotional expression, and cognition through drumming as well.

 

The lessons are structured and follow a progression which helps keep children motivated and inspired.

 

I also offer beginner’s lessons to people of all ages - Want to learn to play the drums but don't know where to start?

These classes will not only give you the tools to play beats and fills on your drum set, but also provide you with an in-depth knowledge of drum tuning, drum notation and rudiments.

 

Once you’ve started learning, you’ll understand the fundamental mechanics of drumming and the importance of muscle memory.  In time, these will enable you to better control the instrument, ensuring fast progress and making the process more enjoyable and musical. You will be amazed how quickly you'll be playing along to your favourite songs!

 

At present, I am a mobile teacher, which means I travel to your home and teach on your drum set, electronic drum set or practice pad.  I will show you effective ways to practise and improve without a drum set as well.

 

Although I am able to provide intermediate and advance lessons, I feel that the latter can be provided to drummers at no cost to themselves using the wealth of educational videos and lessons available online and on YouTube.
